I’ve been spending about a week looking through tons of cooking blogs and have seen a lot of good, a lot of bad, and a lot of in the middle. I’m starting this blog to show people that you don’t have to give up taste and time to eat healthy to sustain your active lifestyle.
I never was much of a cook until I started getting really serious about my health about a year ago. Since then, I’ve slowly been learning better eating habits to achieve my short and long term fitness goals. I’m a rock climber at heart, I love to rock climb and love to camp! I also enjoy cycling, running, and weight lifting. A recent finger injury (ulnar nerve problem) from a cycling accident while training for the BP MS150 has left me on the sidelines from climbing and cycling and has focused me on my running.
I ran my first competitive race in January, the EP5k in conjunction with the Houston Marathon. My goal for this run was <30 min, I blew away that goal and achieved 26:50 and 13th place in my division! I’m now training for my first 10k, the ConocoPhillips Rodeo Run, which I run on February 28th where my goal is <60 min.
I believe that eating well is paramount to achieving body image and fitness goals and hope you join me on my journey!
